GalMaxx Alpha® is a high corrosion resistance hot-dip galvanized steel sheet and coil with superior formability. It is a new generation of hot dip galvanised steel coil that contains predominantly Zinc, 5% Aluminium and 1% Magnesium.

Thanks to its unique composition, Alpha performs more than 3 times better corrosion resistance of surface, cut edges and bend processed parts than standard galvanized consisting of the well-balanced Zn-Al binary eutectic phase and MgZn2/Al/Zn ternary eutectic phase.
Magnesium oxide is impermeable membrane that does not allowing fluid to pass through and difficult to be removed. While Zinc oxide eventually forming a protective passivating layer of the basic zinc carbonate, Zn5(OH)6(CO3)2, by reaction with atmospheric carbonate dioxide. Aluminium oxides are more stable and provide as lower corroding, more passive barrier.
